 Ukrainian artist, master of still life, landscape, genre paintings, author of numerous portraits. 
 Maksimenko Alexander G. was born in 1916 in the village of Vilkhovatka, Poltava region. 
 In 1933 - 1938 he studied at the Dnepropetrovsk Art College. 
 In 1947 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute, where he studied under A. Shovkunenko, K. Eleva, Yu. Bondar, A. Fomin. 
 Since 1947, takes part in exhibitions, including foreign ones. 
 In 1948, the artist became the Laureate of the Stalin Prize of the III degree (for the work "Land Owners", which was exhibited at the State Tretyakov Gallery). 
 Maksimenko A.G. - Member of the National Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR since 1947. 
 The title "Honored Artist of Ukraine" was awarded to Alexander Grigoryevich in 1972. 
 The artist’s works are presented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava and other art museums, in private collections of Ukraine and beyond ..
