Prokopenko Nikolay Nikolaevich was born in 1945.

He studied at the Odessa State Art College (1964-1971), then at the Kiev Academy of Arts (1971-1977).

Member of the National Union of Artists and the National Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine. People's Artist of Ukraine.

Laureate, diploma winner of international, national and regional exhibitions, as well as a number of international biennials. Painter, graphic artist, book graphic illustrator. Lives and works in Odessa.

Over twenty years of creative activity, more than fifty of his personal exhibitions took place. "Ukrainian Picasso" is called by Nikolai Prokopenko, some foreign critics. Many of his works were included in the museum collections of Ukraine. Some are in the collections of the national libraries of France, Holland, Poland, in galleries and private collections in Germany, Spain, Romania, Greece, Switzerland. More than 66 museums and galleries in the world are the lucky owners of his paintings. He is equally admired by the art critic from Paris, Jean-Luc Rigot, and the Mexican composer Manuel Mora, who considers Prokopenko’s painting a genuine miracle. The exhibition “The Sun of the South” presents 35 works by the author, time from November 12 to December 5.
